In India, an 18-year-old woman has tragically died after taking abortion pills given to her by her 25-year-old cousin the man she was reportedly in a relationship with.
Police say she began having serious health problems after taking the drug and was taken to a local hospital then transferred to a hospital in Delhi, where she died on December 23.
Investigators also noted that she suffered from anemia, a condition that increases the risk of heavy bleeding with abortion drugs. Authorities have charged the cousin under Indian law for an act intended to cause miscarriage.
This is yet another stark reminder of the dangers of unsupervised abortion drugs, especially outside of proper medical care and a reminder of the importance of protecting both women and unborn children from the abortion pill.
