For the first time in our nation’s history, the U.S. government has taken the groundbreaking step of declaring abortion a human rights violation.
This isn’t just a symbolic gesture. The State Department has now directed officials who compile the annual Country Reports on Human Rights Practices to document which nations use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, as well as to record the total number of abortions committed within each country.
This new requirement does more than add statistics to a report. It elevates the issue of abortion on the international human rights stage and acknowledges the inherent dignity of every unborn child.
The Trump administration is making it clear: no nation that finances the killing of its own children can be considered a true leader in protecting human rights.
