A federal lawsuit has been filed by Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway challenging the FDA’s approval of a new generic version of the abortion drug mifepristone.

Hanaway said, “Mifepristone is sending women to the hospital with life-threatening complications, and yet drug companies continue pushing new versions of it into the market without basic medical safeguards.”

Both Kansas and Idaho have joined the case which seeks to not only block the approval of the generic abortion drug, but to restore the pre-2016 safety standards for the dangerous abortion drug.

Recent insurance data shows that approximately 1 in 10 women who take the pill will face serious medical complications. This dangerous scourge must be stopped.
