As the battle for life continues in all fifty states, it is important that we celebrate each win for life. Recently, a three-judge panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled in favor of the Oregon Right to Life after their lawsuit had been wrongfully dismissed. The pro-lifers had asked the court to prohibit Oregon from enforcing a mandate which would require pro-lifers to provide abortion coverage in healthcare plans for employees despite their religious objections. While the court had initially dismissed the case, this decision has given it new life and we pray that the deeply held religious objections of the pro-lifers will prevail. No employer should be forced to provide abortions.
