Here’s a feel-good story. A woman heard a baby’s cry in the middle of the night in the community of Mulberry, Florida. She and her husband searched the woods behind their home and found a newborn baby girl covered in insect bites with the placenta still attached. Polk county fire Rescue estimated she had been born about an hour before being found. That was late January and as of the end of November, this abandoned baby was officially adopted. Florida, like most states, has a law allowing mothers to turn their newborns over to fire stations, hospitals, and the like with no questions asked. This allows for the transfer of a baby without risking her life or health. This child whose mother chose life for her will have a full life with loving parents.
