Independence Day

Today’s Independence Day.  I live in a passionately patriotic household.  Our flag flies every day of the year.  We’ve experienced the reality of keeping our freedoms.  Our son risked his life serving in Iraq to protect our rights here at home.  First among them is the right to life because without that right there are no other rights.  No right to celebrate holidays as we choose.  No right to worship as we please.  No right to live anywhere we want.  No right to support the political candidates of our choice.  Because our son Nick and his buddies sacrificed immensely to protect our rights, I’m doubly passionate about protecting the right to life of every American citizen – born and unborn.  You don’t lose your citizenship just because you live in the womb.  Happy Fourth of July everyone!
