With Mother’s Day upon us, who do you believe would be an ideal mother? Hold that thought while I tell you mine. An ideal mother is one who’s a marginal cook, her house may be a total mess, and the yard shows she’s no gardener. She’s often late to church, and the appearance of her and the kids looks disheveled. But the older children know they are there to worship the King of kings and Lord of lords. In the center of home life, the kids know that even with the chaos, they’re loved and treasured by their mom and dad. Each is being brought up to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. And while they’re already busting at the seams, the news of another child is met with joy and rejoicing. This is the ideal mother to me.
