Plan Seventy Five

A fictional film slated to soon debut depicts life in Japan for citizens 75-years or older.  Called Plan 75, it depicts life under a law that encourages euthanasia at 75-years-old to diminish the growing population of older adults.  The director, Chie Hayakawa, produced the film as a warning that Japanese society is growing intolerant of people who are weak, elderly, poor, or disabled.  The people have become obsessed with the concept of self-responsibility.  When the film came out in Japan he was shocked to find support for the real-life idea of a Plan 75.  Euthanasia is expanding with alarming speed in Canada.  In less than five years they dropped the requirement that patients be terminal.  To watch a trailer of Plan Seventy-Five, visit lifeissues.org.
