The Guiding Star Project

There’s a new trend emerging among life-affirming services for pregnant women.  Guiding Star Siouxland in Northwest Iowa provides a wholistic approach to healthcare for women.  This includes free or low-cost doula services, called the Labor of Love Program for women who are struggling financially.  They also offer natural family planning and fertility assistance, pregnancy and childbirth services, breastfeeding, and even postpartum care.  In addition, there’s help for women experiencing menopause and after abortion care for women struggling with the death of their babies by abortion.  Their services are too many to mention here.  The Guiding Star project is more than a local effort, it’s a national movement to provide life-affirming, wholistic healthcare for women.
