Cancer and Pregnancy

Consiglia was three months into her daughter’s pregnancy when diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.  Doctors offered her abortion to protect her health, but she steadfastly refused.  This Italian mother was determined to protect her baby.  To make matters worse, these events unfolded during the COVID lockdown.  Turns out she didn’t have to choose between her daughter or treatment.  She was given personalized chemo treatments that wouldn’t harm her baby.  God was watching over this mother and her child.  Little Aurora was born a healthy baby on September 15.  The family is celebrating two victories, Aurora’s birth, and her mother’s successful cancer treatments.  We produced a heartwarming video on pregnant women with cancer.  Go to lifeissues.org and click on the microphone icon to watch it.
