Miscarriage touches so many lives. Not just parents, but grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings feel the pain. Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Senator John McCain and a co-host of The View, recently experienced the tragedy of miscarriage. She expressed the hearts of thousands of mothers in a New York Times editorial. Meghan treasured being in “the sisterhood of motherhood…nursing with joy…until the day the joy was over.” If you’re unsure how to respond to these hurting moms and dads, express your sorrow and love for the baby the same as you would for a toddler or adolescent.
