Unborn baby Denver and her parents, Derek and Kenyatta Coleman made history. Denver was the first baby to successfully have brain surgery while still in the womb. She suffered from a malformed blood vessel called vein of Galen malformation, which can cause high blood pressure and heart failure. When doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital offered Denver’s parents the experimental surgery, they immediately said yes. The procedure was done in mid-March and Denver has been meeting all the normal baby milestones. She’s enjoying home life with her three older siblings. This Louisiana couple’s deep and abiding faith carried them through what at times seemed like a hopeless situation. Kenyatta was able to share her faith on national TV after the surgery.
