Abortion as Birth Control

Research shows over half of women who have abortions report using contraception in the month they became pregnant.  This means abortion has been used as a method of family planning.  Since the Supreme Court reversed Roe, scores of women throughout the country realize abortion may not be available as backup family planning.  As a result, Planned Parenthood and doctors’ offices have experienced a significant uptick in requests for permanent sterilizations.  Response to this development varies.  Some think these women are likely to regret their decisions.  While others believe these sterilizations prevent future abortions.  One thing is certain, the demise of Roe has changed our nation fundamentally.  What are your thoughts?  Share them in our broadcast link at life issues.org.
