Southwest Airlines is a glutton for punishment. A federal district court found the airline guilty of firing Charlene Carter, a flight attendant for expressing her pro-life views on her personal Face Book page, and awarded her over five million dollars. Southwest was also told to inform their employees of their rights in the face of religious discrimination. Instead, Southwest attorneys accused the judge and jury of making mistakes and in a memo warned their employees not to do what Charlene did. As you can imagine the judge didn’t like this one bit. He’s given the hotshot attorneys until the end of August to attend an eight-hour training on religious liberties. This is really getting interesting. I’ll keep you posted.
