As if we needed further evidence politics can be vindictive and petty, here it is. Pro-abortion Democrat Governor Laura Kelly of Kansas vetoed pro-life legislation protecting babies who survive late-term abortions and another telling women about the abortion pill reversal protocol should they change their minds. A bipartisan act of the legislature overrode both vetoes. One of those supporting the overrides was State Rep. Marvin Robinson, a black Democrat. In retaliation, the Governor vetoed a quarter million dollars from his project to preserve the Quindaro Ruins, an historic place on the Underground Railroad helping slaves get to Canada. Robinson had been working on this project since before he joined the legislature. State lawmakers believe the veto was to punish this pro-life Democrat.
