Hearts Can Follow Laws

Many say you can’t legislate morality.  But I’ve always believed laws change behavior and hearts can soon follow.  In the case of pro-life legislation, we’re seeing evidence in an Illinois abortion center just across the border from Missouri, where unborn babies are protected.  As women come in from out of state, abortion staff say they are “more strongly voicing feelings like they are doing something wrong.”  And “I don’t want to murder my baby.”  The staff are also hearing things like, “If the Supreme Court or the government says this isn’t legal, then I’m clearly doing something wrong.”  This is a perfect example of hearts following laws.  I also believe it’s a case of laws confirming in the hearts of women what they already knew – killing their babies is wrong.
