Mother Heroine

Russia announced it’s bringing back a Soviet-era honorary title of Mother Heroine, given to women who reach the milestone of having ten children.  They’ll receive a cash prize of one-million Rubles, equal to over $16,000.  President Putin is desperate to increase Russia’s dwindling population, in part impacted by the deaths of thousands of soldiers who have perished in the war on Ukraine.  Sixteen years ago, they started Day of Conception, a national holiday for people to go home and procreate.  The couple to give birth closest to nine months later win a grand prize SUV.  Lesser prizes include major kitchen appliances.  One of the most effective ways Putin can increase the population of Russia is to protect its unborn children.  The country has a very high rate of abortion.
