Callous Disregard for Preborn Child

A Nebraska mother and her teenage daughter are facing federal charges related to an illegal abortion and the disposal of the baby’s body.  Jessica Burgess is charged with giving Celest abortion pills to kill her baby at 24-weeks.  Once the baby was born, they burned the body and buried the child.  Charges against Celest reflect her role in hiding the baby’s body.  Police said Celest told her mother she “can’t wait to get the ‘thing’ out of her body.  I will finally be able to wear jeans.”  Comments on social media between the mother and daughter led to the charges.  The absolute callous disregard for a helpless human being is the byproduct of nearly fifty years of legal, unrestrained abortion throughout pregnancy.  It’s time to stop the killing.  Women deserve better.
