Still a Human Being

South Carolina joined 10 other states that have passed the Heartbeat Bill.  It prohibits abortion once the heartbeat of an unborn baby can be detected.  The bill passed on a party line vote – with two exceptions.  Two Democrats, Representatives Russell Ott and Lucas Atkinson supported the bill.  Mr. Ott said, “An unborn child is still a human being…I can’t separate myself from that.”  He’s right and I laud him for basing his vote on this sound scientific fact – that and his belief in the sanctity of life.  Of course, the extreme Planned Parenthood immediately filed a lawsuit to block the bill.  But when it’s all said and done, the yes votes will be on the right side of history and that’s the side of life.
