The Texas legislature is putting tax dollars where their heart is. That is, with young women and men facing unexpected pregnancies. As lawmakers pass legislation to end abortion, they’re investing 100 million dollars during the next two years to support alternatives to people who desperately need it. This means money will be assisting efforts to provide women and men facing unexpected pregnancies with free counseling, job training, diapers, parenting classes, baby formula and more. Unlike Congress that spends money it doesn’t have; Texas operates with a balanced budget, and the state is making alternatives to abortion a priority. As expected, pro-abortion activists have tried to derail these humanitarian efforts. They should instead be cheering them on.
