Unanimous Support in Committee

Bradley Mattes   |   March 17, 2021

During this week of Life Issues focused on God’s special creations, I want to relay a remarkable occurrence that unfolded in the South Dakota State Legislature during a committee hearing.  They were hearing expert testimony on Governor Kristi Noem’s nondiscrimination abortion bill.  It prohibits abortion when targeting unborn babies with Down syndrome.  One of those testifying was Katie Shaw who has Down syndrome.  She told the Committee about her wonderful life and asked them to consider what life would be without her in it.  Here’s the remarkable part.  The Committee voted unanimously for the bill – Democrats and Republicans alike!  I interviewed Katie for a special video where you can see firsthand how special she is.  Visit lifeissues.org and click on the top banner for this and other resources.
