Former President George H.W. Bush was no stranger to the abortion issue. As President he fulfilled his pro-life political promises. The reason why may not be known by many. When candidate Ronald Reagan announced then pro-abortion George Bush as his running mate, my colleague Dr. Jack Willke requested and received an opportunity to educate him on the abortion issue at his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. Jack spent four hours briefing Mr. Bush on fetal development, abortion and the arguments for and against it, after which he asked him to share his opinion on abortion. V.P. candidate George Bush then declared he was pro-life. That educational briefing changed history, and many babies are alive today because of it. He was a good man. My prayers are with his family.
