This is truly a case of death with dignity. Linda is dying from Hepatitis C from her days of being a heroin addict. She was sleeping on the sidewalk until being brought to “Inn Between,” a hospice for the homeless. During this time, she’s gotten off heroin, worked on her relationship with her daughter and found love. Linda wasn’t looking for love but found it with Ernie, a fellow patient. After getting married, she’s doing a little better because she now has a reason to live. Matilda Lindgren, Inn Between’s program director, said, “Many patients find their time of dying actually becomes their best time of living.” I agree. God has a reason for every minute of our lives, so we shouldn’t end it, but live for His greater purpose.
