Smartphone Ultrasound

Bradley Mattes   |   May 30, 2018

An Israeli startup company is in the final stages of developing a handheld ultrasound device that runs off any smartphone.  A pregnant woman can scan images of the baby herself and then send them to her doctor for examination.  The primary purpose of this new technology, already successfully tested in America, is to provide “the calming effect” for mothers.  In the event she doesn’t feel movement and grows concerned, an ultrasound scan can be quickly sent to her obstetrician.  PulseNmore, the company behind it, intends the device to be used in a limited manner.  I’ve been expecting someone to advance ultrasound to this level.  Imagine the impact of having a safe option for sidewalk counselors who could show an abortion-bound woman the beating heart of her unborn child.
