Mexico City Policy is Effective

One of the first things President Trump did after being sworn in was reinstate and expand the Mexico City Policy. It prevents your tax dollars from funding international organizations that perform or promote abortion. We know it’s been successful because pro-abortion activists are complaining. Duff Gillespie with the Gates Institute said the policy, “has set us back in a very dramatic way.” And it’s caused countries like this one to question abortion’s legitimacy, “[I]f abortion is a positive development for Ethiopian women’s health, then why does the US government not support it?” Abortion activists also say it keeps nations away from abortion, concerned the next pro-life president will take away their funding.
