Here’s some really good news. The American College of Physicians studied the issue of physician-assisted suicide and released a policy statement. They came out strongly against legalizing assisted suicide saying, “This practice… affects trust in the (patient-physician) relationship, as well as in the profession, and fundamentally alters the medical profession’s role in society.” The organization of physicians further stated, “Control over the manner and timing of a person’s death has not been and should not be a goal of medicine.” I firmly agree. Only the Creator of life has the authority of when, where and how to end life. The medical community made a grave error when doctors stopped taking the Hippocratic Oath, which first promises to “do no harm” to their patients.
