Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash., bills itself as a Christian school of higher learning. Yet they had a working relationship with the local Planned Parenthood. The university offered for-credit internships and was listed as a “community partner” on the website of the abortion conglomerate. Last October, Students for Life and other petitioned the school to sever its ties with Planned Parenthood. Whitworth’s president, Beck Taylor, recently issued an email announcing they are ending the relationship. But part of this statement concerned me. He worried the relationship with Planned Parenthood might send an “unintended message” the university has taken a stand on abortion. Well, if they’re a Christian school, they should take a stand – against Planned Parenthood and abortion.
