Hospital Exclusively for Down Syndrome

Bradley Mattes   |   July 10, 2017

Here’s some exciting news.  The pro-life Jerome Lejeune Foundation has announced they will build the first American hospital exclusively for patients with Down syndrome.  Jerome Lejeune was a French physician who discovered the extra chromosome causing Down syndrome.  The Foundation has already built such a hospital in France.  The location of the new facility — like none other — has not yet been announced.  It will provide comprehensive healthcare, seeing to therapeutic needs and offering dietary, speech and psychological care — the most holistic approach possible.  Dr. Lejeune passionately opposed aborting babies with Down syndrome.  “Medicine becomes mad science,” he said, “when it attacks the patient instead of fighting the disease.  We must always be on the patient’s side, always.”
