What Happened to Our Pro-Life Future?

ve8QAd   |   May 03, 2017

Fifteen months before the election, Life Issues Institute worked tirelessly to educate, motivate and activate Americans to elect a pro-life president and majority in the House and Senate.

Many other pro-life and pro-family groups did the same and more.

So what was our reward?

What were the results of our collective efforts of time, money and voting? There have been notable life-saving victories, including US Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, the Mexico City Policy, defunding the United Nations Population Fund and legislation to allow states to defund Planned Parenthood.

What’s still missing? Next to the Supreme Court, it’s our number one objective.

Stop your tax dollars from funding Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

This abortion conglomerate:

  • Kills nearly 900 babies every day – seven days a week
  • Has been caught selling aborted baby body parts for profit
  • Has stolen tens of millions of dollars through Medicaid fraud
  • Is the nation’s most aggressive lobbyist for abortion on demand
  • Makes a killing – both financially and literally – from abortion

These horrifying details should make defunding them an easy decision for a pro-life majority in the House, Senate and White House. After all, they widely campaigned on the promise of defunding this abortion giant.

But something happened on the way to liberation for America’s preborn children.

Republican leadership met over the weekend with pro-abortion Democrats to work out a budget, and Planned Parenthood funding remained part of the package.

Leaders of the pro-life movement were left slack-jawed with the seeming betrayal of America’s unborn babies.

House Speaker Paul Ryan

Was this a case of the Republicans snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, or is there a sensible strategy?

House Speaker Paul Ryan has publicly recommitted Republicans to passing the reconciliation bill which he says will definitely include diverting Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid reimbursement – 80 percent of their tax funding – to legitimate women health centers. These 13,000-plus facilities throughout the USA provide a wide variety of healthcare services to women in need.

The political reality is a vote on the budget would take 60 senators to overcome a certain filibuster by pro-abortion Democrats. The reconciliation vote requires a simple majority.

The recent budget deal, however, increases pressure on the Republican leadership to deliver the goods – defund Planned Parenthood.

And IT’S ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that we be the driving force behind the Speaker’s promise. You and I must send a clear-cut message that anything short of success is unacceptable.

Once we prove the sky won’t fall if the abortion behemoth isn’t funded with our tax dollars, Americans will realize women and their children don’t need Planned Parenthood. They deserve better.

But it won’t happen without your help. Contact your Representative TODAY! Strongly urge them to support the reconciliation bill that defunds Planned Parenthood.

Generations of children will thank you for standing in the gap to protect their lives.

Literally. Generations.

Picture the babies you help save today growing up and having children of their own.

This is a legacy worth leaving.
