A Very Special Day Today

Bradley Mattes   |   March 21, 2016

Today is World Down Syndrome Day.  During normal conception; the mother and father each contribute twenty-three chromosomes—usually resulting in a child with forty-six chromosomes.  With Down syndrome, the baby gets an extra chromosome, which gives him or her forty-seven chromosomes.  So they picked March twenty-first because the baby gets three of chromosome number twenty-one.  Sadly about sixty-seven percent of babies, when diagnosed with Down syndrome in the womb, are aborted.  If more people understood the blessings of these individuals, nobody would abort them.  Help me spread the word.  Visit life issues dot org and click on the microphone icon for tons of information on Down syndrome.  And let’s thank God today for every one of them.

Help us celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and the blessings these individuals are to all those around them.  Check out our expansive information on Down syndrome.
