Since abortion was legalized throughout pregnancy in nineteen-seventy-three, the pro-life movement has worked tirelessly to protect unborn babies. I got involved two years after Roe, so I’ve witnessed most of the history of our movement. And I have very good news to report. The number of abortions in America has dropped by a half-million since peaking in nineteen-ninety. That means each year a half-million babies and their mothers are spared from the lethal brutality of abortion. Why the decrease? It’s pro-life education, legislation, women help clinics and modern science like ultrasound. It’s because the diverse pro-life movement is working together toward ultimate victory of ending all abortion. And I’m optimistic we’ll win, but there’s lots of hard work yet to do.
