Angela and Michael Bakker were devastated to get the news their unborn daughter would likely die. The placenta hadn’t attached properly and their baby wasn’t getting enough nutrients. Doctors repeatedly urged them to abort her but they refused. A week later preeclampsia threatened Angela’s life so they did an emergency C-section. Little Naomi was only twenty five weeks along, but her condition made her the developmental age of only half way through the pregnancy. Under thirteen ounces, her eyes still fused shut and skin like delicate paper, Naomi miraculously breathed on her own. She survived two surgeries to correct holes in her bowels and in spite of the odds, suffered no brain bleeds. Finally, Naomi joined her brother at home for Thanksgiving and she’s a living testimony to God’s grace.
