History Repeating in Germany

Bradley Mattes   |   November 27, 2015

Germany did something I thought I’d never see in my lifetime.  They legalized physician-assisted suicide.  It was only sixty-some years ago the Nuremburg Trials ended where they handed down sentences for the Nazis who acted on their beliefs that some people weren’t worthy of life.  I stood on the street corner in Berlin where it all began.  A plaque describes the atrocities of the T-Four program that led to the deaths of millions of innocent people.  Yet after such a short period of time, history appears to be repeating.  The German legislation prohibits commercial killing centers, but it’s only a matter of time before that safeguard is discarded.  As a person of German heritage, it deeply saddens me the German people have such short memories.  Please pray that God intervenes.
