Various states continue to pass and enact pro-life laws. Lots of them, according to The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion group first founded as the research arm of Planned Parenthood. They lament there have been 51 laws enacted that protect unborn babies and their mothers from abortion. Only they didn’t describe it quite like I did. Laws like waiting periods before having an abortion, ending late-term abortions and requirements for abortion mills to be as clean and safe as surgical outpatient facilities. Other popular laws require an abortionist have an affiliation with a local hospital, and safety requirements for the chemical abortion pill, RU 486. The number of pro-life laws will decline because only a limited number are constitutional under Roe. But we’re heading in the right direction.
