Ben Carson is a presidential candidate. He’s a retired, brilliant pediatric neurosurgeon who was in high demand throughout his career. A movie was made about the life of this doctor/author—a poor black kid who learned good values from his mother. Dr. Carson credits his pro-life stand to looking back at history and seeing how blacks were enslaved, beaten and killed at the will of their owners. Now he’s seeing another segment of society—unborn babies—being treated like human possessions very similar to the slaves of years ago. He said, “[Abortion] doesn’t convey that right to terminate [an unborn baby] anymore than a slave owner had the right to terminate a slave.” I greatly admire Dr. Carson as a tell-it-like-it-is man, while always speaking in a gentle voice.
