The Missouri State Legislature passed a bill extending the waiting period to 72 hours before a woman can have an abortion. The pro-abortion governor, Jay Nixon, vetoed it. He said a longer “waiting period serves no purpose other than to create emotional and financial hardships for women.” Then the legislature added, “And to save their babies!” before overriding his veto. Now Planned Parenthood, the only abortion mill in St. Louis, is grousing on their website about the 200 babies the legislation saved in the last year. And they’re blaming—or giving credit, depending upon which side you’re on—the bill extending the waiting period. Planned Parenthood doesn’t care about women needing time to think. They only care about 200 fewer customers to line their pockets.
