One Hundred Grandchildren

Bradley Mattes   |   June 08, 2015

Leo and Ruth Zanger have a great reason to celebrate. This Illinois couple just welcomed their one-hundredth grandchild. They had twelve children who have collectively produced grandchildren, great-grand children and even a great-great-grandchild. Ruth’s response to number one-hundred? “There’s always room for one more.” This is a close-knit family that without fail gets together for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They usually rent out a church hall. In case you’re wondering, the Thanksgiving meal serves up twelve turkeys. Leo says, “The good Lord has just kept sending them.” Can you imagine the joy experienced at these gatherings? This is one family who lives their belief that children are a blessing from God.
