Efrat is a pro-life organization in Israel that has saved over thirty-five-thousand babies from abortion. The name comes from a settlement in the country. Israel has very permissive laws regarding abortion, but women must first register their request to have one. The women are than asked why they want to end the life of their child. If they say financial reasons, they’re given the phone number of Efrat. This is when the organization springs into action. An assigned volunteer assesses her needs gives her all the needed items like diapers, crib, formula and food—delivered right to her door for a full year. Efrat helps the moms during the second year also and has a volunteer network of over three-thousand people. Like Efrat’s American counterparts, practical help at the start saves many lives.
