Mattes Named President of Life Issues Institute

CINCINNATI, OH (April 20, 2015) – The board of directors of Life Issues Institute has named Bradley Mattes president of Life Issues Institute following the death of pro-life pioneer John C. Willke, MD, who had been president of the organization since its founding in 1991.

Mattes and Willke co-founded Life Issues Institute to provide educational materials to the pro-life movement. Mattes had been the organization’s executive director and CEO; he will continue in the latter role.

In addition to his duties as president and CEO, Mattes will continue to host Life Issues Institute’s Emmy Award-winning weekly television program, Facing Life Head-On, and its daily radio commentary, Life Issues.

Mattes is also president of the International Right to Life Federation, a coalition of pro-life organizations around the world. Additionally, he is chairman of the board of directors of the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network and serves on the board of the National Religious Broadcasters Association.

A 40-year veteran of the pro-life cause in the educational, political, media and humanitarian arenas, Mattes is a frequent speaker at pro-life events and has been published nationally and internationally. He has a particular interest in the effect of abortion on men and frequently counsels men who have lost a child to abortion. Additionally, he has written a post-graduate course on the subject and helped establish the Men and Abortion Network. Mattes holds a master’s degree in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling.
