In January leaders in the House of Representatives pulled pro-life legislation over wording of a rape exception. The bill would ban abortions after five months because the baby feels the pain of abortion. Leading the rebellion over the rape wording is Congresswoman Renee Ellmers. Now she’s saying she supports the bill because the wording was changed—deleting that the rape must be reported to law authorities beforehand. This is a deal-breaker. It would mean any woman wanting a late-term abortion could say she was raped and the abortionist would eagerly agree. Contact your congressperson and demand that the rape exception not be watered down. It doesn’t need to be there at all. At five months rape shouldn’t be an issue.
