Something Positive out of Tragedy

Yesterday, I told you about the things you should and shouldn’t say to those who’ve lost a child to miscarriage.  Today I want to tell you about a great idea born out of tragedy.  Sandy and Kristin Fitzgerald’s son, Tom, lived for only twenty hours.  Each year on the anniversary of Tom’s death they drop off gifts to the local pro-life women help center; they make a birthday cake; and they do something kind in his honor.  It’s a marvelous idea for those who’ve lost children to miscarriage, stillbirth or, like Tom, who had a very short life on earth.  Mothers and their babies will benefit from the gifts to the pro-life center, the birthday cake provides healing.  And imagine all the people you could involve in doing random acts of kindness in memory of your child.
