When Samuel Forrest held his baby son for the first time, doctors told him he had Down syndrome. After walking into his wife’s hospital room with Leo in his arms, his wife gave him an ultimatum. Give the baby up for adoption or I’m divorcing you. Samuel didn’t consider adoption for a moment and his wife, true to her word, started divorce proceedings when Leo was a week old. Samuel has very little money to take Leo back to his native country of New Zealand where family would love Leo. So he asked for contributions on an internet site to raise enough for one year so Leo wouldn’t have to be in daycare and he could take care of him. Samuel felt his son had lost enough already. In nine days people had given over one-hundred-thousand dollars.
