It angers me when a doctor tells new parents their special-needs baby will never do a list of things so-called normal kids do. In Skyler Baker’s case, the doctor said her cerebral palsy would prevent her from playing sports. Wrong again. Skyler’s parents bought her a horse and she’s become a force to be reckoned with in barrel racing. If she gets bucked off, she gets right back on her horse. The Colorado media reported, this rodeo queen “flies on horseback” even though she sometimes has difficulty walking. If a doctor tells you your baby or grandbaby won’t be able to measure up, tell him that reality is chock-full of people who’ve proven the naysayers wrong. True to Romans 8:28, God gives us challenges in life to help us succeed in His plans for us.
