Euthanasia Advocate Changes His Mind

Bradley Mattes   |   August 26, 2014

The United Kingdom has been debating a law that would legalize doctor-assisted suicide.  This should interest you because like England, we now have socialized medicine with built-in incentives to deny patients costly treatment.  An interesting person testified against UK’s proposed law.  Professor Theo Boer teaches at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.  He’s known for aggressively promoting euthanasia.  But after personally seeing the carnage such laws bring, he’s changed his mind and is speaking out against the UK bill.  Professor Boer said these laws turn “assisted suicide from a last resort into a normal procedure.”  And that it’s become “a default mode of dying for cancer patients.”  He laments he was “terribly wrong” to think euthanasia would work.  He’s right and we must fight it here.
