High Profile Hypocrisy

Bradley Mattes   |   April 10, 2014

To Say that some elected officials are hypocrites is an understatement. I’m giving West Virginia’s Governor, Earl Ray Tomblin, the prize of hypocrite of the year. The State Legislature passed a bill to stop abortion after five months of pregnancy, well after a baby feels the pain of abortion. Governor Tomblin said, “I believe there is no greater gift of love than the gift of life.” Then he immediately vetoed the life-saving legislation. One pro-life leader called this “high-profile hypocrisy.” Tomblin can’t run for governor again, but he may want to seek election to another post. If he does, will the voters of West Virginia remember how he turned his back on their most vulnerable citizens, unborn babies? Imagine saying it’s okay to kill a baby of five months in the womb.
