I’ve just completed a study of experts who analyze pro-life laws and their effect on society and health. Doctor Michael New is a good friend and the leading expert on the effect of pro-life legislation. He’s looked at laws on parental involvement, informed consent, tax funding restrictions and partial-birth abortion bans. The parental involvement laws not only lower the abortion rate but also the rate of pregnancies, sexually transmitted disease and suicide. Doctor New and others have also compared the maternal mortality rate in pro-life countries versus pro-abortion. It’s no surprise pro-life countries are much safer, not only for babies, but also for moms. There’s also fewer stillbirths, premature births and incidents of breast cancer. Any way you look at it, pro-life legislation is saving lives.
