Many women agonize whether or not to have an abortion, but not all. A past Los Angeles Times article featured reasons why women abort. It never occurred to Sarah to use birth control, even though she’s been having sex for six years. She was planning her wedding and didn’t think her dress would fit. Stephanie, who forgets to take her birth control pills, was having a fourth abortion, saying it was “no big stress.” The abortionist, William Harrison, who’s since died, reflects the same. He told the reporter, “It’s not a baby to me until the mother tells me it’s a baby.” Kim thought abortion was easier than adoption, as long as she didn’t let herself thing about “what could have been.” The pitter patter of little feet isn’t keeping these moms up at night. Not yet anyway.
