Last year, the day before Thanksgiving, my oldest son and his precious wife miscarried identical twin boys. Even in the face of death we were still thankful to our Heavenly Father for His many blessings. Now, as time on the calendar has come full circle, memories of that sad event come back like it was yesterday. Even so, we still have thankful hearts for our blessings. This year my heart overflows with thanks that when I get to heaven, I’ll meet our grandsons—Levi Timothy and Zachary Christian Mattes. Something tells me there won’t be a need for introductions. Instead I’ll know them the second I see the boys. Even though we still grieve a year after their deaths, tomorrow—and every day—I’ll thank God for their brief lives and a future eternity together.
