Sometimes I’m asked, “Why is abortion a bad thing when it sends the baby directly to heaven?” In the long run, aren’t the babies better off? Calvin Frieburger made some good points in a recent article, and I’d like to share some of them with you. This statement suggests our time on earth isn’t valuable and is without a reason. It also negates the good each of us is called to do here on earth, especially sharing Christ with others. And it places mankind into a role of putting his judgment above God’s. Finally, it’s contrary to God’s commandment, “Thou shalt not kill.” God has a divine purpose for every person He allows to be born on this earth. We mere mortals have no right to question that plan or to circumvent it by killing the individual.
