Pastor Thomas Vander Woude found out a couple was planning to abort their unborn baby diagnosed with Down syndrome. He asked them to deliver the child and he’d find an adoptive family. They agreed, but only gave him twenty-four hours. A church volunteer posted a request for adoptive families on Facebook, and asked interested couples to contact the pastor immediately. The next day the church phone rang off the hook. Pastor Tom also got over nine-hundred emails. Many parents choose abortion because they don’t think anyone would want to adopt their baby with Down syndrome. This proves otherwise. Please don’t hesitate to speak up if someone you know is opting for abortion for their child with special needs. No child is unwanted. And every child is a blessing from God.
